  • Waist Apron Elefant - Linen, Elefant, Grey, Svenskt Tenn | Svenskt Tenn

Waist Apron Elefant Linen, Elefant, Grey

100 USD (incl. VAT)

Svenskt Tenn's waist apron is just as beautiful hanging on a hook in the kitchen as it is on the chef. The aprons are made in high quality linen, with prints designed by Josef Frank or Estrid Ericson.

Svenskt Tenn’s founder Estrid Ericson travelled a lot to different places around the world. She always looked for beautiful items and textiles and souvenirs that she could take home and sell in the store on Strandvägen in Stockholm. She designed this print with small elephants, based on a model from the Belgian Congo. The Elefant (Elephant) textile was printed for the first time in the end of the 1930s.

The placement of the pattern may vary from the one in the picture.

This textile product is produced by hand at Caravanserai in Gävle, which is a meeting place for craftsmen from across the world who have been forced to flee their homes and have now found a new home in Sweden. Caravanserai offers aesthetically sustainable production within needlework, bricklaying, painting and upholstering.

  • Designer: Svenskt Tenn

Eighty percent of Svenskt Tenn’s collection consists of products that are of our own design. Josef Frank alone left behind 2,000 furniture sketches and about 160 textile designs. Sometimes Svenskt Tenn produces products based on models from the archive, which contains sketches and designs from both Josef Frank and Estrid Ericson.

  • Care instructions

Machine wash Svenskt Tenn’s textile products such as pillowcases, placemats, napkins, pot holders and aprons at 40 degrees Celsius. Avoid colder temperatures as the colours can fade. Dry clean is recommended for Svenskt Tenn’s tea cosies.
