Textile Rox & Fix Linen 100, Rox & Fix

160 USD (incl. VAT)

The Rox & Fix print shows mountain silhouettes with contours that draw the eye deeper and deeper into the pattern. This design approach is common with Chinese art, and it was a visit to the Chinese section of the Metropolitan Museum of Art that inspired Josef Frank with this design. The name is a play upon words where the Rocks and Figs motif became Rox & Fix. The print was designed in the beginning of the 1940s, but was printed for the first time in 1994.

Josef Frank’s textiles with the 100 linen designation are made of a thin linen that is best suited for curtains.

  • Designer: Josef Frank

Josef Frank grew up in Vienna and studied architecture at Konstgewerbeschule. Svenskt Tenn hired Josef Frank in 1934 and just a few years later he and Estrid Ericson made their international breakthrough. Although he was already 50 when he left the burgeoning Nazism in Vienna for Sweden, Frank is considered one of Sweden’s most important designers. Read more
