Fabric Sample Hawai Linen 315, Hawai, Brown

5 USD (incl. VAT)

Josef Frank was inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York when he created Hawai. In the museum he found a remarkable collection of Trees of Life from the north side of the Indian peninsula. The Hawaii print, with its matted stems, is similar to these trees. The print was designed in 1943-1945 and is one of Josef Frank’s biggest prints with a 180 cm rapport.

Josef Frank’s textiles with the 315 linen designation are best suited for curtains, pillows and other textile products. They can also be used as upholstery fabric on furniture that is not exposed to excessive wear, such as in the home.

Svenskt Tenn hired Josef Frank in 1934 and just a few years later he and Estrid Ericson made their international breakthrough.
