Dr Axel is a discreet, woven upholstery fabric with beige, light grey and sand tones. The print is named after the physician and writer Axel Munthe, who also built the well-known Villa San Michele, overlooking the Bay of Naples on Capri. The design of the stripes was inspired by Munthe's refined aesthetics and elegance. The print is a part of the Capri collection, created by designer Lars Nilsson for Svenskt Tenn in the spring of 2018.
