Svenskt Tenn's coasters are available in several colourful prints by Josef Frank, suitable for everyday use as well as for special occasions.

The Tulpaner (Tulips) print is distinct without any small softening details. A feature of the print is the petal-thin contours in different colours that give the flowers their depth and vitality. Josef Frank designed the print in 1943-1945.

Svenskt Tenn developed this design using Josef Frank's print.

In the 1920s he designed housing estates and large residential blocks built around common courtyards in a Vienna with severe housing shortages. In 1925 he started the Haus & Garten interior firm together with architect colleagues Oskar Wlach and Walther Sobotka. Svenskt Tenn hired Josef Frank in 1934 and just a few years later he and Estrid Ericson made their international breakthrough. Although he was already 50 when he left the burgeoning Nazism in Vienna for Sweden, Frank is considered one of Sweden’s most important designers. Read More

  • Care instructions

The placemat cannot be used for plates and saucepans directly from the stove or oven. To clean the surface, wipe the placemat with a slightly damp cloth. Never rinse the placemat under running water, as the lamination is sensitive to moisture. Avoid contact with wet surfaces on the underside as the colour from the flocked paper can rub off.
