  • Design

This stylish tea trolley was originally designed by Josef Frank in the late 1930s. The rectangular panels in walnut and linoleum are carried by a rack in cast iron, creating a floating feeling. For a practical and convenient usage, Joseph Frank chose the durable material linoleum, which he framed in vibrant walnut and added a handle wound in pale leather. The trolley was resumed in Svenskt Tenn's range in the early 2000s.

Josef Frank grew up in Vienna and studied architecture at Konstgewerbeschule. In the 1920s he designed housing estates and large residential blocks built around common courtyards in a Vienna with severe housing shortages. In 1925 he started the Haus & Garten interior firm together with architect colleagues Oskar Wlach and Walther Sobotka. Svenskt Tenn hired Josef Frank in 1934 and just a few years later he and Estrid Ericson made their international breakthrough. Although he was already 50 when he left the burgeoning Nazism in Vienna for Sweden, Frank is considered one of Sweden’s most important designers. Read more

  • Care instructions

Furniture with a linoleum surface should be carefully wiped with a soft and clean microfiber cloth. If necessary, wipe with a mild soapy water and then dry the surface.

Polish, oil or abrasive cleaners should never be used on the furniture. Never expose the furniture to prolonged humidity or direct heat. Never place a vase filled with water directly on the table as water-filled vases can cause condensation and damage the surface. Keep in mind that corrosion can occur in the steel if the varnish is damaged.
