In accordance with Estrid Ericson’s instructions, Sofa 3031 was originally a five-seat sofa made in 14 different shades of blue-green linen. The sofa is also called the "Long sofa" and was designed by Josef Frank sometime during the 1940s or 1950s. It was originally custom designed for Kjell and Märta Beijer's home in Säby.

Josef Frank grew up in Vienna and studied architecture at Konstgewerbeschule. In the 1920s he designed housing estates and large residential blocks built around common courtyards in a Vienna with severe housing shortages. In 1925 he started the Haus & Garten interior firm together with architect colleagues Oskar Wlach and Walther Sobotka. Although he was already 50 when he left the burgeoning Nazism in Vienna for Sweden, Frank is considered one of Sweden’s most important designers. Read more

  • Care instructions

All types of feather cushions need to be puffed up to maintain their resilience. Shake and puff up the cushions regularly and knead them to loosen up any feather bunches.

The legs are screwed on and may need to be tightened from time to time.
For additional protection we recommend ordering extra covers for the armrests. Svenskt Tenn also offers stain guarding for further protection.
