Svenskt Tenn’s furniture department was inaugurated in connection with the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930, and the designing of Estrid Ericson’s flat on Strandvägen 5. The furniture collection, by designers such as Björn Trägårdh and Uno Åhrén, was strictly functionalistic. Armchair 219 was designed by Björn Trägårdh in the 1930s.
