The original necklace was bought by Estrid Ericson in 1934 in an antique shop in Rome. It was as the name reveals Etrurian. Estrid replicated the beautiful shape of the necklace and started to manufacture it in gilded pewter in the 1940s.

Estrid Ericson began showing new pewter jewellery in December 1943. Some of the pieces were modelled after the National Historical Museum’s jewellery from the Bronze Age. However, the majority of jewellery was her own creations that she developed in the workshop together with Svenskt Tenn’s talented Thure Carlsson. The jewellery quickly became fashion accessories.

  • Care instructions

Silver is a natural material that reacts when it comes in contact with air, resulting in oxidation. The speed in which oxidation takes place depends on, for example, humidity. Surfaces change over time; Shiny surfaces become somewhat duller while duller surfaces can get shinier.

Clean the surface with a soft cloth. For a deeper cleaning we recommend a gentle, non-abrasive polish. Avoid using brushes, steel wool and the like. Also avoid lengthy contact with oxides that can cause permanent damage. To avoid water damage, keep surfaces dry with a soft cloth.
