When artist Evelina Kroon created this year’s Easter ornaments for Svenskt Tenn, she was inspired by Josef Frank’s iconic print Under Ekvatorn (1941) and applied the same colour palette to a contemporary and dynamic design. The hand blown glass eggs are painted by hand and balance soft shapes with a graphic square pattern in lustrous colours.
The designer and artist Evelina Kroon was educated at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm. She moves across several creative fields and is best associated with her dynamic and colourful check patterns. Her artistary is defined by a graphic yet eclectic aesthetic that brings traditionally female crafts to mind.
