Designer Maja Sten has always enjoyed painting birds, and she is particularly fascinated by the character, curiosity and humorous features of the parrot. In this collection of paper pendants, the tropical parrots are accompanied by a domestic barn swallow. A folkloric interpretation of five birds that together move to northern latitudes this Christmas.

Maja Sten

Maja Sten (f.1974) is an illustrator and designer. She studied at Konstfack before she moved to London and finished her studies at the Royal College of Art. After graduating she returned to Stockholm where she opened her studio. Her creations are often naive and colourful, mixing line engraving with her own personal mythology. Her main inspiration comes from folkart and Flora and Fauna.
