Food for Thought

Food for Thought Beckmans Svenskt Tenn

Exhibited at Strandvägen 5 14.04.2020 - 21.04.2020

Students in Visual Communication at Beckman’s College of Design interpret the Beijer Institute's research on food production, consumption and work for change, with the hope of motivating better choices for the climate.

The exhibition draws attention to questions regarding what we will eat in the future, how food will be produced, what behavioral changes are required according to research and how today's attitudes are related to tomorrow's changes. In their creations, the students have been inspired by the researcher's way of thinking in scenarios. The topic is particularly relevant during 2021 when the UN organizes the UN Food Systems Summit for the first time.

The Beijer Institute for Ecological Economics is an international interdisciplinary research institute at the Royal Swedish Academy of Science. Its goal is a deeper understanding of the interplay between ecological systems, economics and society in order to find ways towards sustainable development. Svenskt Tenn's surplus contributes to the funding of the ongoing research at the Beijer Institute, through the Kjell and Märta Beijer foundation.
