Placemat Stockholmskartan Art nr. 102944

240 SEK (inkl. moms)

Estrid Ericson began laminating textiles on trays back in the 1950s and the concept was carried over to placemats. They are now available in several of Josef Frank’s bold prints, suitable for both everyday use and special occasions.

Josef Frank’s Stockholm Map was initially shown as a cushion in the studio of Svenskt Tenn at the 1939 New York World's Fair. At this time, the print was also used for handkerchiefs.

These placemats are sold in a set of two.

  • Designer

Eighty percent of Svenskt Tenn’s collection consists of products that are of our own design. Josef Frank alone left behind 2,000 furniture sketches and about 160 textile designs. Sometimes Svenskt Tenn produces products based on models from the archive, which contains sketches and designs from both Josef Frank and Estrid Ericson.

  • Care instructions

Wipe the placemat with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid contact with wet surfaces on the underside as the colour from the felt can rub off. Never rinse the placemat under running water, as the lamination is sensitive to moisture.

Do not place extremely hot pots or pans on brass trivets. Brass conducts heat and there is a risk of damaging sensitive surfaces.
