Svenskt Tenn’s founder Estrid Ericson travelled a great deal. She constantly returned home with new souvenirs whose forms, colours and patterns gave her ideas for new products. She designed her small elephant pattern based on a model from what was then the Belgian Congo. It was printed for the first time in the end of the 1930s.
