Josef Frank began his career by starting his own company, “Haus und Garten” (House and Garden), in Vienna during the 1920s. It was from there that he brought the idea of finishing off lamps with three curved legs resting on round feet, to make the design elegant and airy. This model was originally called the “volcano” lamp and it was designed by Josef Frank in 1932.
