This pattern was originally designed by Josef Frank in the 1920s for his company “Haus und Garten” (House and Gardens) in Vienna. Caulis is the Latin word for flower stalk and Celoto comes from an Asian flower species characterized by a plume-like flower cluster. This pattern is different from Frank’s other designs in that the width of the repeat is 37 cm and the motif is regular with only slight pattern shifts.
Textile Celotocaulis also comes in a heavier linen quality, called 450 linen.
