The candle holder, in pewter and a stone (an amethyst), was designed by Josef Frank around 1950. Lighting at the dining table was a matter that lay close to Estrid Ericson’s heart. During a radio interview in 1950, she commented that candlesticks should be high, shining from above rather than below, so as to not cast an unattractive light on the dinner guests. Estrid Ericson designed this candlestick with these thoughts in mind.
