Among the new products at Svenskt Tenn, two tables designed by Josef Frank are joined by leatherwork by Lisa Hilland and a flexible lamp from Whatswhat.
In 1936, Josef Frank designed the rectangular table ’’774’’ in pyramid mahogany with a thin intarsia frame in light colour birch. The round table ’’2110’’ which was drawn around 1950, features tapered legs and a stainless steel tray. They are priced at SEK 19,500 and SEK 22,500 respectively.
”Josef Frank’s timeless tables are, together with the contemporary designs from Lisa Hilland and Whatswhat, excellent exponents of the furnishing philosophy which Svenskt Tenn represents,” says Thommy Bindefeld, Marketing Manager at Svenskt Tenn.
Inspired by family treasures, designer Lisa Hilland has used leather which makes for beautiful ageing to create her pouf and mirror, with the intent to be passed on from one generation to the next. The Pompom Pouf is priced at SEK 26,500 and the leather collared Gloria Mirror comes in three sizes, within the price range SEK 4,900-7,900.
The flexible lampshade Greta was created by the Whatswhat design trio – John Astbury, Bengt Brummer and Karin Wallenbeck – and was drawn during their time with the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design. Using a drawstring, you may direct light upwards or downwards according to your wishes Greta is available in several colours and costs SEK 10,500.
