Svenskt Tenn now reopens its store at Strandvägen in Stockholm with the addition of a tea room. Here tea, scones, sandwiches and cakes are served on porcelain from the classic Italian manufacturer Ginori. Both the tea and the porcelain will also be on sale.
’’The idea of a tea room has been around for a long time, but it was not until now we have the opportunity and space to realise it. Our founder Estrid Ericson was a real tea lover who had five cups each day, two and a half in the morning and two and a half for lunch,” said Thommy Bindefeld, Marketing Manager at Svenskt Tenn.
The tea room, which offers 25 seats, is located on the 1st floor and keeps the same hours as the store.
Ginori, which has its manufacturing outside Florence in Italy, has been active since the 18th century. Svenskt Tenn now introduces a selection of their products on an exclusive basis in Sweden.
Complementing the tea set is a full tableware serie with a tradional design. Later a more modern style will be added, where some pieces carry decor by designer Signe Persson Melin, including one that builds on the popular ‘’Myrten’’ pattern.
Prices: Tableware starting at SEK 240 per piece. There are seven different choices of tea, two Svenskt Tenn’s own flavor, costing SEK 80 in a bag, and SEK 140 in a container.
