Pewter returns to center stage

In the 1920s, when Estrid Ericson opened Svenskt Tenn, pewter had established itself as the most exciting material in competition with silver, glass and ceramics. Estrid Ericson started making pewter objects in her own workshop behind the store.
’’In the 1940’s Estrid Ericson’s jewelry were important fashion accessories. Before, other metals than gold or silver were barely imaginable in jewelry. Her versions became more affordable. And they feel just as modern today’’ said Thommy Bindefeld, Marketing Manager at Svenskt Tenn.

Pewter objects remain an important part of Svenskt Tenn’s range. It is now extended even more with a large number of new utility and decorative items as well as a new jewelry collection consisting of some twenty pieces in pewter, brass and gilt pewter.
