Fireplace screen CPB2101

Svenskt Tenn introduces fireplace screen CPB 2101 by Prince Carl Philip
Today is the premiere for the fireplace screen CPB 2101, designed by Prince Carl Philip.
This cast iron piece with brass depicts the silhouette of the Tre Kronor Palace, and is manufactured for Svenskt Tenn by the Lyrestad foundry. CPB 2101 is the first product designed by Carl Philip Bernadotte inspired by eventsfrom Swedish history. Tre Kronor
was the original Royal Palace in Stockholm. It was destroyed by fire in 1697. ”The fireplace screen resembles a kind of theatrical backdrop with historical references,” says Thommy Bindefeld, Marketing Manager with Svenskt Tenn.
”When the fire lights up behind the screen, the drama around the Tre Kronor Palace comes to life.”

The design has been inspired by decorative copperplates displaying the Tre Kronor. When choosing material, the designer was inspired by the Nävekvarn mill, where the cast iron fireplace lion by designer Anna Petrus used to be produced for Svenskt Tenn.

”We are proud that we were entrusted with producing and selling the fireplace screen,” says Thommy Bindefeld. ”It is a complement to our collections, where Swedish design holds center stage, while we add products and inspiration from outside sources, true to the spirit of our founder Estrid Ericson.”

The fireplace screen is priced at SEK 13,500. It is exclusively sold by Svenskt Tenn and will be
available in store from March 25.
