Svenskt Tenn today

Svenskt Tenn has a unique heritage. The humane modernism that characterised Estrid Ericson and Josef Frank’s environments lacks a counterpart and is what makes up the backbone of the company’s operations even today.

But it is not only the aesthetic heritage that makes Svenskt Tenn so special, but also how the company is formed. Svenskt Tenn is owned by a foundation with a single goal: that the company should live forever. This gives us the opportunity to work with quality and a long-term approach, which few companies have the privilege to do.

Josef Frank didn’t know how right he would be, when he once said: “Furniture survives machines, people, clothing and houses.”

Unique products
Eighty percent of Svenskt Tenn’s collection consists of products that are of our own design. Josef Frank alone left behind 2,000 furniture sketches and about 160 textile designs. This is a Swedish cultural treasure that we are incredibly proud of and happy to have in our trust and develop further.

Among the 40 textile designs in production are both classics and more recent patterns. In this way, Josef Frank lives on.

The shop also has furniture and other objects by some of the most skilled designers and craftsmen of our time. We regularly invite in other creators to interpret and challenge us in our displays, décor and exhibits.

The scene at Svenskt Tenn is constantly changing – entirely in keeping with the spirit of Estrid Ericson.
